How do we know that perseverance in faith is necessary?

Hebrews 6:12 admonishes believers not to be slothful but to be followers of those who have exemplified patience and faith. This highlights the importance of perseverance not only in faith but also in active obedience. The Christian life is depicted as a race that requires endurance, as believers must continually look to Jesus, the author and finisher of their faith (Hebrews 12:1-2).
