How do we know that prayer brings peace?

Answered in 1 source

Prayer accompanied by thanksgiving leads to God's peace, which guards our hearts.

Philippians 4:6-7 explains that we should not be anxious about anything, but rather present our requests to God through prayer and petition, with thanksgiving. When we approach God in this way, His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. The act of prayer allows us to lay down our burdens and anxieties before God, recognizing His sovereignty. Moreover, including thanksgiving in our prayers shifts our focus from our worries to the blessings we have, fostering a heart of gratitude that calms our anxious thoughts and leads to peace.
