How do we know that prayer is effective for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Prayer is effective for salvation as it aligns with God's sovereign will and the examples of intercession found in Scripture.

The effectiveness of prayer in the context of salvation can be seen through numerous instances in Scripture where individuals intercede for others. Abraham prayed for Abimelech and God healed him (Genesis 20:17). Similarly, Job's prayers for his friends resulted in God restoring him (Job 42:10). These accounts show that while God is sovereign and ultimately decides salvation, He uses the prayers of the faithful as part of His means. Praying for the lost aligns our hearts with God's desire for mercy and opens the door for His work in their lives.
