How do we know that prayer is important in the Christian life?

Answered in 1 source

Prayer is essential for Christians as it represents communion with God and reliance on His help in every situation.

Prayer is foundational to the Christian life as it is the means by which we directly communicate with God. Believers are encouraged to pray fervently, as seen in James 5:16, where the 'effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.' Through prayer, we express our dependence on God, seek His guidance, and offer our thanks and petitions. Without prayer, we risk spiritual sickness and weakness, as prayer serves to align our hearts with God's will and strengthens our faith to endure trials and tribulations.
