How do we know that salvation cannot be lost?

Answered in 2 sources

We know salvation cannot be lost because it is based on God's grace and the unchanging nature of Christ's promises.

The assurance of salvation rests on the grace of God, which signifies that it is not earned by works and therefore cannot be forfeited by actions. As stated in Romans 8:38-39, nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. The doctrine of the perseverance of the saints, affirmed in the Reformed tradition, declares that all whom God has chosen will be preserved in faith until the end. This promise is secured not by our strength but by Christ's everlasting love and grace.
