How do we know that salvation is a process?

Answered in 1 source

Salvation encompasses past, present, and future aspects, indicating it's an ongoing process while also being a completed work.

The doctrine of salvation includes three tenses: past, present, and future. This is reflected in scriptural references, such as 2 Corinthians 1:10, which speaks of being delivered from past condemnation, and Philippians 2:12, where believers are exhorted to work out their salvation with fear and trembling. While we are already saved from sin, we are also actively being saved as we grow and persevere in faith. Ultimately, our future salvation is assured, as Paul reminds us that 'now is our salvation nearer than when we first believed,' emphasizing both the assurance of our current state and the anticipation of complete redemption. Our journey in faith is a continual work of God within us.
