How do we know that salvation is achieved through Christ's death?

Answered in 1 source

Salvation is accomplished through Christ's death, as it fulfills the requirements of justice while granting forgiveness and new life to believers.

The biblical understanding of salvation is inherently tied to the death of Jesus Christ. It is through His sacrificial death that the penalty for sin is paid, providing salvation for His people. Romans 6:7 states, 'He who has died has been freed from sin,' indicating that in Christ’s death, believers are justified and freed from the condemnation of the law. Moreover, Colossians 3:3 reinforces this by saying, 'For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.' This denotes that believers, having died with Christ, no longer live under the dominion of sin and the law but are now alive in the grace of God. Therefore, the believer’s identity is transformed in Christ, highlighting that true salvation involves both the death of Christ and a spiritual death of the believer's old self.
