How do we know that salvation is by faith alone and not by works?

Answered in 1 source

Salvation is through faith alone because it is not based on our actions but on the completed work of Christ.

The teaching of salvation by faith alone finds solid ground in Scripture. Ephesians 2:8-9 emphasizes that we are saved by grace through faith and not of works, lest any man should boast. The reality is that if our forgiveness of sins depended on our ability to repent perfectly or do good works, salvation would differ significantly from the grace offered through Christ. Romans 4:25 states that Jesus was raised for our justification, highlighting that our standing before God is rooted in His righteousness, not our failures. Therefore, salvation begins with recognizing Christ's work and accepting it by faith, leading to a transformed life as evidence of that faith.
