How do we know that salvation is by God's sovereignty?

Answered in 1 source

Scripture teaches that salvation is entirely God's work, shown through His sovereign choice and calling, as seen with Abraham.

The sovereignty of God in salvation is a key theme woven throughout Scripture. In Genesis 12:1-5, God calls Abraham out of his father's house and promises to bless him without any prerequisite from Abraham. This demonstrates God's unilateral initiative; He must intervene to save individuals. Salvation is not a collaborative effort where human action preconditions divine grace; rather, it is God who calls and enables belief. As stated in John 17:3, eternal life is to know the true God and Jesus Christ—this knowledge comes through God's revelation, not human discovery.
