How do we know that salvation is by the will of God?

Answered in 1 source

Salvation is determined by the sovereign will of God, as expressed in Scripture.

Paul emphasizes in Ephesians 1:4-5 that salvation is solely by the will of God, stating that He chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world. This demonstrates that our salvation does not hinge on our own actions or decisions but rather on God's sovereign choice. Moreover, the idea that a spiritually dead person can initiate their own spiritual life is a fallacy; dead creatures cannot bring themselves to life. Therefore, our hope rests in God's mercy and grace which freely gives life to the undeserving, as fully articulated through His covenant promises.
