How do we know that salvation is by the will of God?

Moreover, the idea that a spiritually dead person can initiate their own spiritual life is a fallacy; dead creatures cannot bring themselves to life. Therefore, our hope rests in God's mercy and grace which freely gives life to the undeserving, as fully articulated through His covenant promises.
