How do we know that salvation is completely a work of God?

Answered in 2 sources

We know salvation is solely God's work because it meets all the demands of justice through Christ's obedience and sacrifice.

The foundation of the assurance that salvation is entirely a work of God lies in the fulfillment of divine justice. Romans 3:26 teaches that God is just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. This means that Christ's righteousness is imputed to believers, meeting the demands of the law that they could never fulfill themselves. The implications of this truth emphasize that salvation originates from God alone, as neither human will nor effort can earn it. Thus, we recognize that our salvation is rooted in Christ's obedience and the sovereignty of the Holy Spirit in regenerating our hearts.
