How do we know that salvation is completely assured?

Answered in 1 source

Salvation is assured by the everlasting covenant between God and His people, ordered in all things and sure (2 Samuel 23:5).

The security of salvation is rooted in God's sovereign plan and His everlasting covenant with His people. In 2 Samuel 23:5, David acknowledges this truth when he says, 'Although my house be not so with God, yet hath he made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure.' This indicates that despite human failings, God's sovereign decree ensures the salvation of His elect, highlighting that our assurance is not dependent on our performance but on God's faithfulness to His promises. As believers, we rest in the certainty that God's work of salvation is complete, ordered, and guaranteed through the finished work of Christ.
