How do we know that salvation is more than mental agreement with facts?

Answered in 1 source

Salvation requires a spiritual rebirth and relationship with Christ, not just belief in facts.

The sermon asserts that salvation involves not only believing facts about God, Christ, and the Bible but also experiencing a new birth brought on by the Holy Spirit. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, it states, 'If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.' This indicates that true salvation reflects a radical change in one’s life, aligning one’s desires and actions with Christ. Mere acknowledgment of doctrines does not equate to being a disciple or being transformed. Thus, a genuine connection with Christ, characterized by repentance and trust, is necessary for salvation.
