How do we know that salvation is not in man's hands?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible clearly states that salvation is entirely a work of God and is not dependent on human decision or effort.

According to Ephesians 2:1, we were dead in trespasses and sins, highlighting our complete inability to contribute to our own salvation. Scripture teaches that salvation is a divine act—Ephesians 1:4-5 illustrates that God chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world according to His mercy and will, thus confirming that any notion of human free will in salvation is misguided. This reinforces the covenantal love and sovereign choice of God in the redemptive plan.
