How do we know that salvation is secure for believers?

Answered in 2 sources

Salvation is secure because it rests on God's promise and the work of Christ, which is made manifest in the believer's faith (Romans 10:8).

The security of salvation for believers is rooted in the promises of God and the finished work of Jesus Christ. Romans 10:8 notes that 'the word is nigh thee,' highlighting how close and accessible God's promise of salvation is through faith. When a believer truly comprehends who Christ is and what He has accomplished, they rest in Him completely. This assurance is not based on the believer's performance but on Christ’s sufficiency and the internal witness of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, a believer's confidence stems from their knowledge of Christ and the assurance of His promises, which are both deeply engrained through the act of faith in their hearts and mouths.
