How do we know that salvation is solely the work of Christ?

Answered in 2 sources

Scripture affirms that Christ alone purged our sins, emphasizing the sufficiency of His atoning sacrifice for salvation.

The doctrine of salvation being the sole work of Christ is supported throughout Scripture, most notably in Hebrews 1:3 which states that 'He, being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.' This highlights that the recovery of what was lost in Adam is not a cooperative effort with humanity but rather a complete act of grace from Christ alone. Romans 5:17 further reinforces that by the one man's trespass, death reigned, so much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.
