How do we know that salvation results in a new life in Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Salvation is evidenced by the impartation of spiritual life, leading to the gradual formation of Christ within the believer.

Paul emphasizes in Galatians 4:19 that salvation is not merely a change of circumstances but the impartation of new spiritual life. A new believer does not merely improve their old life; they are given a new life that reflects Christ. Just as a child grows and matures, so too does the believer's faith develop. The process of having 'Christ formed in you' means that the believer gradually embodies the character and essence of Christ, evidencing the new life granted by God. This transformation reflects God’s sovereignty and grace in salvation, showcasing His authority to change a heart that was once dead in sin into one that is alive in Him.
