How do we know that salvation through Christ is secure?

Answered in 2 sources

Salvation is secure because Christ reigns forever, guaranteeing that all whom He saves will be saved eternally.

The assurance of salvation rests upon the eternal reign of Christ. As the sermon highlights, 'the reign of Christ has no end' (Psalm 72:5), which assures believers that once saved, they are always saved. Christ’s authority and ability to maintain His kingdom affirm that those whom He has redeemed will never be cast away. The promise made in John 6:37 underlines this truth, where Jesus states, 'All that the Father giveth me shall come unto me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out'. Therefore, the certainty of salvation emerges from Christ's continuous rule and His unchanging commitment to His people.
