How do we know that sanctification is a part of being a Christian?

Answered in 1 source

Sanctification is essential to Christianity as it signifies being set apart for God's holy use, as stated in Hebrews 10:10.

Sanctification is clearly articulated in Scripture as not just a hope or a possibility for Christians, but as an absolute reality for every believer. Hebrews 10:10 states, 'By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.' This indicates that sanctification is a completed action, accomplished through Christ's sacrifice. Furthermore, Hebrews 10:14 declares that 'by one offering He has perfected forever them that are sanctified.' This perfection and sanctification is not a gradual process based on personal merit or improvement but is rooted in the finished work of Christ. Thus, every true believer is sanctified, indicating their identity as Christians.
