How do we know that Satan influences governments?

Answered in 1 source

Scripture indicates that governments, composed of depraved men, act under the influence of Satan, promoting laws contrary to God.

Ephesians 6:12 teaches us that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, which indicates a spiritual warfare at play. The governments of this world, despite their high ideals, are made up of depraved individuals who, without the transforming grace of God, cannot truly enact righteousness. They may have laws that appear moral, but ultimately, without recognition of God's authority, they serve the will of the dragon, blaspheming God and leading the masses astray. This is evident in how governments often promote false religions and ideologies while ignoring, persecuting, or sidelining true believers.
