How do we know that Scripture supports the grace of God?

The Apostle Paul articulates this foundational truth in Romans 15, where he discusses how the scriptures were written to provide believers with comfort and hope. Throughout the Old Testament, God’s dealings with His people demonstrate His grace, even during times of rebellion and sin. The pattern of God’s mercy ultimately finds fullness in Christ, who bore our reproaches and weaknesses. Therefore, understanding Scripture in light of God's grace enables believers to appreciate their position before Him and encourages them to extend that grace to others, following the example of Christ. The consistent message across both the Old and New Testaments is God's unmerited favor towards sinners.
