How do we know that Scriptures are important for growth?

Answered in 1 source

Scriptures are vital for growth as they are the means by which God speaks to us and equips us for every good work.

The Apostle Paul emphasizes in 2 Timothy 3:14-17 that the Scriptures are breathed out by God and are useful for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness. This means that they not only instruct us but also reveal our shortcomings and guide us towards correct living. For spiritual growth, engaging with the Scriptures is essential as they enable us to know God better, understand His will for our lives, and progressively become equipped for every good work He has called us to do. Moreover, the act of submitting ourselves to the authority of Scripture fosters humility and openness to God’s transformative processes.
