How do we know that Solomon's wisdom was from God?

Answered in 1 source

Solomon's wisdom came from God as he humbly asked for it, expressing his inadequacy and reliance on God's help.

In 1 Kings 3, Solomon became king and was approached by God in a dream, where he was asked what he wanted. Instead of asking for wealth or long life, Solomon requested wisdom to govern God's people. This request pleased the Lord, who granted him unparalleled wisdom as well as riches. Solomon's humility in acknowledging his limitations ('I am but a little child') demonstrated his understanding that true wisdom comes from God, aligning with the Reformed understanding that we are utterly dependent on God's grace for all aspects of life, including wisdom.
