How do we know that spiritual blessings are superior to material ones?

Answered in 1 source

Spiritual blessings provide enduring joy and fulfillment, whereas material blessings are temporary and can lead to sorrow.

In the sermon, it is emphasized that the blessed condition of a believer is not tied to the accumulation of material wealth or physical health, but to the spiritual blessings received in Christ. The sermon points out that worldly treasures are fleeting; they may provide temporary happiness but ultimately leave one empty. The believer's true joy comes from forgiveness of sins and acceptance in Christ, which the world cannot offer. As such, the apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 1:3 that God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. These spiritual blessings lead to eternal life and true contentment, contrasting sharply with the uncertain and often destructive nature of worldly pursuits.
