How do we know that spiritual guides are legitimate?

Answered in 1 source

Legitimate spiritual guides will consistently point others to Christ and teach according to Scripture alone.

True spiritual guides are characterized by their commitment to proclaiming solely the Word of God and directing the congregation's attention to Christ. As noted in the sermon, if a guide begins mixing human effort with grace or presents a message that detracts from Christ's sovereignty, it’s a clear signal to distance oneself from that ministry. Believers are called to be discerning, ensuring their guides emphasize the gospel of grace, are grounded in Scripture, and accurately represent Christ’s finished work.
