How do we know that suffering precedes glory?

Answered in 1 source

The Bible confirms that suffering is necessary for glorification; Jesus Himself suffered before entering glory (Romans 8:17).

Scripture teaches that suffering is an integral part of the Christian experience leading to glory. Romans 8:17 clearly states that we suffer with Christ to be glorified with Him. This pattern of suffering preceding glory is illustrated by Jesus' own life, as He advised His disciples that it was necessary for Him to suffer in order to enter His glory (Luke 24:26). Furthermore, in John 15:18-20, Jesus reminds us that if the world hated Him, it would also hate us, thereby indicating that believers will face trials as they follow Him. This suffering serves to deepen our faith, refine our character, and ultimately leads us to the hope of glory that awaits us with Christ.
