How do we know that temptation is overruled for good?

Answered in 1 source

Temptations, though evil in nature, are overruled by God to strengthen our faith and dependence on Him.

Satan's temptations are often seen as instruments of trial against the faithful, yet God sovereignly uses them for our good. As highlighted in the sermon, temptation can lead us to deeper prayer, strengthen our resolve against sin, and foster a greater reliance on Christ's strength. For instance, when faced with fiery darts from the enemy, believers often find themselves fleeing to prayer and seeking God's comfort, leading to spiritual growth and greater intimacy with Him. Moreover, temptations can act as a touchstone, revealing what is truly in our hearts and prompting us to strive for holiness. Therefore, while they seem to come from a malevolent source, God turns these trials into avenues for grace and sanctification.
