How do we know that the body of Christ is one?

Answered in 1 source

The body of Christ is one because it is united under one head, Jesus Christ, as affirmed in Ephesians 1:22-23.

The unity of the body of Christ rests on the fundamental truth that Christ is the head of the church. Ephesians 1:22-23 highlights that Christ is the head over all things for the church, which is His body. This signifies that all true believers are connected to Christ and to one another as members of the same body. The church is made up of all those whom God has chosen and predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son. Therefore, the oneness of the body is a divine reality established by God’s sovereign purpose and not subject to human efforts of unification. True believers are one in their faith and shared identity in Christ.
