How do we know that the disciples are truly the salt of the earth?

Answered in 1 source

Disciples are recognized as salt when they genuinely embody the teachings of Christ and hold fast to Him in faith.

The authenticity of a disciple being the salt of the earth is demonstrated in their commitment to Christ and the teachings He imparted. Genuine disciples acknowledge their spiritual poverty, mourn their sins, seek after righteousness, and recognize their dependence on the grace of God. They are called to hold forth the message of the Gospel that embodies both salvation and the seriousness of God's judgment, as indicated in 2 Corinthians 2:14-15. Moreover, their lives reflect the saltiness through acts of mercy and grace, allowing them to impact the world uniquely, shedding light amid moral decay and darkness.
