How do we know that the elect were chosen before the foundation of the world?

Ephesians 1:4-5 declares, 'According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.' This teaches that God’s choice of His people is not based on any merit found in them but solely on His sovereign will. It confirms that redemption is rooted in God's eternal purpose.
