How do we know that the gifts of the Spirit are still relevant today?

The apostolic gifts were specific to the early church to confirm the message of Christ before the New Testament was fully written. As stated in 2 Peter 1:19-21, we now have a 'more sure word of prophecy' in the Scriptures, which serve as our basis for faith and teaching. Although we don't perform miracles like the apostles did, believers today are given spiritual gifts suited for the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12). These gifts may manifest in diverse forms, such as teaching, encouragement, and service, all designed for the edification of the church and the proclamation of the Gospel. The continuing reality of these gifts highlights God's ongoing work in and through His church.
