How do we know that the gospel is all about Christ?

Answered in 1 source

The gospel is centered on Christ because it reveals His person, work, and the salvation He provides.

The essence of the gospel is entirely about Jesus Christ — who He is and what He has accomplished for humanity. Luke 4:18 emphasizes that the Spirit of the Lord is upon Him to preach the gospel to the poor, indicating His divine mission. Furthermore, Isaiah 42 declares Jesus as God's chosen servant, highlighting that all of God's favor resides in Him. The gospel encapsulates every action and testament of Jesus' work on earth, encapsulated in His sacrifice and redemption. Hence, when preachers proclaim the gospel, they are declaring the greatness of Christ and His redemptive work, thus confirming that the heart of the gospel is Christ Himself.
