How do we know that the Holy Spirit is a person?

Answered in 1 source

The Holy Spirit is identified as a person because He speaks, guides, and has a will, as demonstrated in Acts 13.

The personhood of the Holy Spirit is evidenced in Scripture by His actions and role within the Godhead. In Acts 13:2, the Holy Spirit speaks to the church to set apart Barnabas and Saul for God's work. This communication is indicative of personhood, as only persons can speak and provide direction. Additionally, His involvement in the life of believers, guiding and equipping them, confirms His active role. The Holy Spirit's ability to interact with the church and direct God's plans showcases His divine authority and personality as part of the Trinity.
