How do we know that the Holy Spirit leads us to Christ?

Answered in 2 sources

We know the Holy Spirit leads us to Christ because His ministry is to reveal the truth of Christ and drive sinners towards Him for salvation.

The divine role of the Holy Spirit is to direct attention away from Himself and towards the person and work of Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit convicts individuals of their sin and points them to the only source of salvation—Jesus Christ. For instance, in John 16, the Holy Spirit's function is emphasized in revealing truth and righteousness, guiding believers to understand their need for Christ’s atoning sacrifice. This work includes enlightening the hearts of the believers to recognize their depravity and to find hope solely in Christ's righteousness. Thus, a clear indication of the Holy Spirit's work in someone's heart is when they acknowledge their need for Christ and place their faith in Him alone for salvation.
