How do we know that the law cannot save us?

Answered in 3 sources

The law cannot save us because it reveals our sin and shows that no one can keep it perfectly.

The Scripture explicitly states that no flesh shall be justified by the deeds of the law (Romans 3:20). If the law could have given life, righteousness would have been by the law. However, the law's true function is to expose our failures and to demonstrate that we cannot achieve righteousness on our own. It reveals our sinful nature, driving us to seek salvation through faith in Christ, who fulfilled the law on our behalf and offers grace to those who believe.
