How do we know that the law is not needed for our justification?

Answered in 1 source

We are justified by faith in Christ alone, not by works of the law (Galatians 2:16).

The Apostle Paul makes it clear in Galatians 2:16 that a person is not justified by works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ. Justification is a legal declaration by God that a sinner is made righteous through the atoning work of Christ, rather than through adherence to the law. The law’s requirement for perfect obedience shows us our falling short and points us to our need for a Savior. Thus, while the law is reflective of God’s holiness and standard, it cannot provide justification; instead, it leads us to rely solely on Christ’s righteousness by faith.
