How do we know that the Lord is my salvation?

Answered in 1 source

We know the Lord is our salvation through His redemptive work on the cross and His promises in Scripture.

David repeatedly declares in the Psalms, including Psalm 18 and repeatedly throughout the Psalms, that 'the Lord is my salvation.' This means that salvation is not merely an abstract concept, but a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, who fully atoned for our sins at Calvary. The New Testament echoes this truth, emphasizing that Jesus is the Savior of sinners, affirming that there is salvation in no other name but His (Acts 4:12). Believers can have assurance in their salvation because it rests on God's faithfulness and the completed work of Christ, who stated in John 14:6, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.' Thus, we can confidently claim the Lord as our salvation.
