How do we know that the Lord is my shepherd?

Answered in 1 source

We know the Lord is our shepherd through the assurance of His Word and our faith as His sheep.

To affirm that the Lord is my shepherd, one must engage with the question, 'Am I a sheep?' The distinction between sheep and goats, as noted in Matthew 25, highlights that not everyone can claim the Lord as their shepherd. Jesus indicates that His sheep hear His voice and follow Him (John 10:27), which speaks to a relationship founded on faith and recognition of His voice. If a person believes in the gospel and trusts in Christ's redemptive work, they can confidently assert that the Lord is indeed their shepherd.
