How do we know that the Old Covenant is abolished in favor of the New Covenant?

Answered in 1 source

The New Covenant replaces the Old Covenant, as confirmed by Christ's sacrifice and the tearing of the temple veil.

The Bible asserts in Hebrews 8:13 that the Old Covenant has become obsolete due to the establishment of the New Covenant through Christ's death. When Jesus was crucified, the veil of the temple was torn from top to bottom (Matthew 27:51), symbolizing that the separation caused by the ceremonial law was removed. Colossians 2:14 further clarifies that Christ blotted out the handwriting of ordinances that were against us, thus abolishing the law of commandments. This transformation signifies that adherence to the ceremonial aspects of the Old Covenant is no longer required for believers.
