How do we know that the old covenant is no longer applicable?

Answered in 1 source

The old covenant has been fulfilled in Christ, making it obsolete for believers under the new covenant.

The New Testament presents Christ as the fulfillment of the law, as noted in Hebrews 7:18-19 where it mentions a disannulling of the commandment for its weakness. Furthermore, Galatians 3:25 states that after faith has come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster, thus indicating that the old covenant, which brought condemnation, is no longer applicable. With Christ’s sacrifice and the establishment of a new covenant, believers now live under grace, not the law.
