How do we know that the promises of Jesus Christ are true?

Believers can have assurance in the promises of Jesus Christ through the firm foundation of faith in God's Word and the fulfillment of His promises throughout history. Faith is defined here as living one’s whole life on the assumption that Christ’s commands are binding and His promises are true. The Scriptures depict God as faithful, and the consistent fulfillment of His promises over time is evidence of His reliability.

Such experiential validation is coupled with the knowledge that God, in His sovereignty, governs all things to purpose.
