How do we know that the Sabbath is still relevant?

The relevance of the Sabbath today is found in understanding its meaning rather than strict observance. In Colossians 2:16-17, Paul clarifies that the Sabbath, along with other ceremonial laws, was a shadow that pointed to Christ, who fulfills their purpose. Although Christians now gather on Sunday, the Lord's Day, to commemorate the resurrection, the underlying principle of taking time to rest and reflect on God's work in our lives is essential. Thus, believers are called to maintain a spiritual rhythm of rest that acknowledges both God’s sovereignty in creation and in salvation through Christ, where our ultimate rest is found.
