How do we know that the Scriptures provide comfort?

Answered in 1 source

Scriptures provide comfort through the promises of God and the revelation of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).

The Scriptures serve as a source of comfort because they relay God's promises, character, and redemptive work. Throughout the Bible, believers are reminded of God’s faithfulness and grace, particularly through the life and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. As we encounter trials and tribulations, it is in the Scriptures that we find the reassurance that we are not forsaken; rather, we have a compassionate God who cares for us, thus enabling us to face life's adversities with hope and peace. The vibrant messages in Scripture guide us to understand our troubles in light of God's ultimate plan for our lives.
