How do we know that the sovereignty of God is involved in Gospel preaching?

Answered in 1 source

God's sovereignty ensures that the proclamation of the Gospel is effective as He works through His Word to change hearts.

In God's sovereign plan, He has ordained the preaching of the Gospel as the primary means of salvation. Scriptures like Isaiah 49:2 highlight that God has made the mouth of His servants like a sharp sword, indicating the power and effectiveness of His Word. Hebrews 4:12 further illustrates that the Word of God is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, able to penetrate the heart's intentions. Thus, when believers faithfully preach the Gospel, we can trust that God is actively working through those words to accomplish His purpose. This is vital in corporate evangelism and personal witness, as it reassures us that God is in control and able to save those who believe, regardless of how impactful our efforts may appear at the moment.
