How do we know that the tabernacle symbolizes Christ?

Answered in 1 source

The tabernacle's design and function reveal its role as a type of Christ, emphasizing the need for a mediator between God and man.

The tabernacle is explicitly identified as a type of Christ through its various components and their significance. For instance, the outer coverings of the tabernacle were common, but the interior was splendid, filled with gold and intricate designs—pointing to the incarnation of God's glory in Christ. The Apostle Paul in Hebrews 9 teaches that the tabernacle served a symbolic function until the time of reformation when Christ would fulfill its purpose. Just as priests operated within the tabernacle to atone for sins, Christ, being our High Priest, entered the heavenly tabernacle to present Himself as a sacrifice for our sins, thus establishing a new covenant that fulfills the types and shadows of the old covenant.
