How do we know that trials are beneficial for Christians?

Answered in 3 sources

Trials are tools used by God to sanctify Christians, drawing them closer to Himself and teaching reliance on His grace.

The experience of trials teaches Christians that it is through struggles that they grow spiritually. Biblical figures, including David, faced immense difficulties, which served to humble them and reinforce their dependence on God. Such trials encourage believers to seek comfort in Scripture, deepen prayer life, and ultimately prepare them for eternal glory. Instead of viewing hardships as signs of divine neglect, Christians should recognize them as God’s sovereign means of sanctification. The trials we encounter are not merely suffering but are integral parts of God's design for testing and strengthening our faith.
