How do we know that tribulations can bring joy?

Answered in 1 source

Tribulations lead to growth in faith and character, which ultimately bring joy as we trust in God's purpose.

The Bible teaches that tribulations can serve a greater purpose in the believer's life. In Romans 5:3-4, Paul expresses that we can glory in tribulations, understanding that they produce patience, and patience leads to experience. This experience creates hope, which does not disappoint because of God’s love. Therefore, when facing trials, believers can find joy in knowing that these experiences are part of God's sovereign plan to refine us and lead us closer to Him. This joy is not about a lack of suffering but rather about the growth and maturity that can arise from enduring it with faith.
