How do we know that true believers will bear fruit?

Answered in 2 sources

True believers will bear fruit as evidence of their genuine faith, as fruit reflects the life of Christ within them.

The assurance that true believers will bear fruit is rooted in the nature of their relationship with Christ. In John 15:5, Jesus states, 'I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit.' This indicates that a vital connection to Christ results in spiritual fruitfulness. If someone claims to be in Christ but does not bear any fruit, it raises questions about their true spiritual state. It is through the Holy Spirit working in believers that fruit is produced, affirming their identity as children of God. Throughout scripture, such as in Matthew 7:20, we see that 'by their fruits, ye shall know them,' serving as a reminder that genuine faith manifests itself in a life changed by Christ.
