How do we know that true faith is a living thing?

Answered in 1 source

True faith endures and produces fruit, demonstrating its vitality.

The concept of perseverance of the saints encapsulates the belief that true faith, given by God, will always result in a believer's ongoing reliance on Christ. While mere profession of faith can be misleading, genuine faith manifests through a life that continuously trusts in Christ and bears fruit over time. Hebrews 11 illustrates how those of faith lived and died in belief, emphasizing that true faith can stand the test of time and circumstances. Those who are truly united with Christ through faith remain in Him and, as a result, inevitably bear the fruit that is characteristic of a disciple.
