How do we know that true worship is about God and not ourselves?

Answered in 1 source

True worship focuses on who God is, not on our emotions or actions, aligning our hearts to His holiness and grace.

True worship is centered on the glory and holiness of God, as emphasized in the sermon. It's rooted in the belief that God alone deserves our reverence and praise. Many expressions labeled as worship today, often driven by emotionalism or self-interest, fail to honor God’s character as revealed in Scripture. True worship respects God's nature as a consuming fire and acknowledges that our service is valid only if it stems from God’s grace and leads to Him. Recognizing this distinction prevents us from falling into the trap of making worship about our experience rather than about God's worthiness.
